A. General Terms of Use

1) Introduction

Welcome to our website. Please read these terms of use carefully before signing in for our event. Your participation is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms, which apply to all participants.

2) Service Provider

The website http://www.brusselsmanagementchallenge.com is administered and exploited under the responsibility of the management team of the Brussels Management Challenge.
Any question or complaint related to the use of the Website or the functioning of the services proposed by Brussels Management Challenge may be addressed to us by e-mail sent to the following e-mail address: info@bmc2018.be

3) Terms of usage

Access to and use of the Website are subject to the present General Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy, as well as to the Belgian law. Consequently, access to the Website implies the surfer’s full consent without any reservations with the present Terms and the Privacy Policy.
The Terms and the Privacy Policy exclusively govern the relationship between the visitor of the Website (hereinafter the “User”) or the person registered (hereinafter the “Participant”) and Brussels Management Challenge, in connection with the Services and the use of the Website.
Brussels Management Challenge reserves the right to modify and update these Terms, the access to the Website and its content at all times and without prior notification. Such modifications are opposable to the Users and Participants upon each visit to the Website.
The consultation of the present website is free.
However the participation to the Brussels Management Challenge is conditioned to the validation of your registration as a user and to the payment of a deposit (more details in the participation’s conditions).
Once your registration has been granted, the access to the part of the website with restricted access, your profile, will be granted.

4) Information on third-parties applications

The Website may integrate third-parties applications (hereinafter the “Third-parties applications”), such as e.g. Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, or Twitter. These applications are subject to their own terms and conditions and privacy policies, which can be consulted on the respective websites of the concerned third-parties.
Third-parties applications are not controlled by Brussels Management Challenge, who consequently bears no responsibility in this respect.

5) Privacy

Registration as Member leads to the registration of certain data of the User in the database of BMC.
Where applicable, all data gathered during registration are processed in accordance with the Act of 8 December 1992 on Privacy Protection in relation with the Processing of Personal Data.
The Member who is a natural person may at any time request to cancel its registration as a Member. Its personal data and user account will then be deleted within due time.
The Personal Information collected through this website is going to be used for the purpose of this event and only shared with the sponsors. They will be allowed to use the results of the challenges, as well as the personal information and the CV shared during the registration process.

6) Intellectual property

The Website and all its components (marks, logos, graphics, photographs, animations, videos, music, text, etc.) are the property of BMC or its partners. They are protected by intellectual property rights (more specifically copyrights and neighboring rights, trademark rights, etc.) and may not be reproduced, used or communicated without prior and written authorization from BMC or from the rights holder; otherwise such actions constitute a violation of copyrights and/or designs and/or trademarks, punishable with imprisonment and fines, without prejudice to civil damages.

B. The Brussels Management Challenge

The Brussels Management Challenge is a two-days event taking place on the 23rd & 24th of February 2018 at ICHEC Montgomery, Boulevard Brand Whitlock, 2 1150 Brussels. This event will gather students as from the end of the Bachelor degree to resolve and present 3 cases in teams in front of a Jury.
The winners and the awards are going to be determined at the event. However, the precise results are going to be announced by email afterwards.

1) Participation

The conditions to take part to this event are:
• To be a student as from the last year of Bachelor degree (YEAR 3)
• PhD, postgraduates, master after master students are allowed and encouraged to participate
• This event is only for students; young workers are not allowed to participate
• To be either from a management background, a STEM background (Science – Technology - Engineering - Mathematics) or any another one (Law, communication, political sciences, modern languages or else)

The Brussels Management Challenge team reserves the right to close the registrations once the maximum number of participants has been reached.
NB: We have set a limit of 100 registrations for ICHEC Master 1 students.

2) Registration

a) Registration process
To register to this event, students have to complete the registration form on the website and attach their CV. Each field has to be completed with valid and correct answers.
Every student needs to register individually using the specific web registration of the BMC2018.
• Every student who registers can form a team of maximum 5 students by providing the name of a team and asking all other students in that team to specifically identify the team when they register individually.
• Each team needs to be a mixed and balanced team including Business/Management students, STEM (Scientific, Technology, Civil engineering, mathematicians, medical, Bio engineering…) profiles and/or “Other” backgrounds (law, communication, political sciences, modern languages, or else). The rule is maximum 3 students from management backgrounds (Business engineering included), but it might be less.
• Every student can validly register without forming a team or by forming an incomplete team. The BMC2018 organizers will form or complete the teams based on registrations, respecting the mix targets (ICHEC and non ICHEC, as well as Management, “STEM” and “Other” profiles).

b) Deposit
In order to submit the form, the “Terms of use” have to be agreed by the participants and the payment has to be completed via PayPal or bank transfer on the following bank account: BE77 0689 0764 0242.
Each participant will be asked to pay a 20€ deposit which will be refund in case of full attendance at the event (2 days attendance and 3 cases solved).
After the 1st of December, the deposit is non-refundable, except in case of force majeure or with a good justification. Moreover, according to the articles VI.47 to 53 (CDE) related to the right of retraction for online transactions, participants are allowed to retract themselves within 14 days after the payment.
We will refund the deposit on the bank account you have indicated in the registration form, not necessarily the one you paid with.

c) Confirmation of the participation
After submitting the subscription form on the Website and having uploaded the CV, a green rectangle should confirm your registration has been taken into account. Subscription as a Participant is complete once the User has done the payment of the 20€ deposit. Only a confirmation email sent by the BMC team will confirm the user’s participation to the BMC2018. Wait for our email and check your spams!
The Participant may identify himself on the Website by introducing his username or First name and Last name combined with the password in the appropriate fields to, for example, upload a new version of his CV or check his data.

3) Event

The BMC will be held on the 23rd and 24th of February 2018.
The event will start on Friday morning with an introduction session.
This session will be followed by the distribution of the first case. You will have to solve 3 cases in total (6 hours per case) from Friday morning to Saturday afternoon. The format of the deliverables will be specified by the sponsors.
Those deliverables will have to be given personally on a USB stick to one of the designated organizers at a specific time. When you will hand in your USB stick, you will receive the next case.
Finally, the deliverables will have to be presented in front of a Jury on Saturday afternoon.
The jury’s session will be followed by a closing ceremony and by a walking dinner.

4) Disqualifications

The day of the event, we expect you to be sharp on time in order not to interfere with the good functioning of the activities. During the challenges, non-compliance with the deadlines or inappropriate use of the infrastructures, as well as cheating, could lead to disqualifications.
Moreover, in order to be considered as a full participant, you will have to solve the 3 cases.
