a) Registration process
To register to this event, students have to complete the registration form on the website and attach their CV. Each field has to be completed with valid and correct answers.
Every student needs to register individually using the specific web registration of the BMC2018.
• Every student who registers can form a team of maximum 5 students by providing the name of a team and asking all other students in that team to specifically identify the team when they register individually.
• Each team needs to be a mixed and balanced team including Business/Management students, STEM (Scientific, Technology, Civil engineering, mathematicians, medical, Bio engineering…) profiles and/or “Other” backgrounds (law, communication, political sciences, modern languages, or else). The rule is maximum 3 students from management backgrounds (Business engineering included), but it might be less.
• Every student can validly register without forming a team or by forming an incomplete team. The BMC2018 organizers will form or complete the teams based on registrations, respecting the mix targets (ICHEC and non ICHEC, as well as Management, “STEM” and “Other” profiles).
Each participant will be asked to pay a 20€ deposit which will be refund in case of full attendance at the event (2 days attendance and 3 cases solved).
After the 1st of December, the deposit is non-refundable, except in case of force majeure or with a good justification. Moreover, according to the articles VI.47 to 53 (CDE) related to the right of retraction for online transactions, participants are allowed to retract themselves within 14 days after the payment.
We will refund the deposit on the bank account you have indicated in the registration form, not necessarily the one you paid with.
c) Confirmation of the participation
After submitting the subscription form on the Website and having uploaded the CV, a green rectangle should confirm your registration has been taken into account. Subscription as a Participant is complete once the User has done the payment of the 20€ deposit. Only a confirmation email sent by the BMC team will confirm the user’s participation to the BMC2018. Wait for our email and check your spams!
The Participant may identify himself on the Website by introducing his username or First name and Last name combined with the password in the appropriate fields to, for example, upload a new version of his CV or check his data.
The BMC will be held on the 23rd and 24th of February 2018.
The event will start on Friday morning with an introduction session.
This session will be followed by the distribution of the first case. You will have to solve 3 cases in total (6 hours per case) from Friday morning to Saturday afternoon. The format of the deliverables will be specified by the sponsors.
Those deliverables will have to be given personally on a USB stick to one of the designated organizers at a specific time. When you will hand in your USB stick, you will receive the next case.
Finally, the deliverables will have to be presented in front of a Jury on Saturday afternoon.
The jury’s session will be followed by a closing ceremony and by a walking dinner.
The day of the event, we expect you to be sharp on time in order not to interfere with the good functioning of the activities. During the challenges, non-compliance with the deadlines or inappropriate use of the infrastructures, as well as cheating, could lead to disqualifications.
Moreover, in order to be considered as a full participant, you will have to solve the 3 cases.
